About me
Let me introduce myself, my name is Tobi, well full name is Tobias Michael Hipp. I get great enjoyment from watching people grow and overcome challenges. Honestly, I have been blessed to accompany several friends and strangers to grow and develop over time.
As an IT Engineer and business owner I met many people over the years and have always been able to help where I could to make a difference in their lives. It was never about the money, but always about happy customers.
I have joined the Lions Organisation in 2013 as I believe in helping others in need. ...and there is great need in our communities.
Where did it all start?
About 25 years ago, I heard of a 4 day retreat called "The Key". At the time my wife was reading self help books, so I mentioned to her that there is a retreat in town. I personally thought that this mumbo-jumbo was not going to achieve much but I wanted to be a supportive husband. My mother-in-law decided that she would allow us to do this retreat as a couple and paid for us both to attend. There was no way our for me. She even looked after the kids for the extended weekend.
I attended the retreat and to cut a long story short, I was a new person after that. I came away with so much clarity, determination, energy and knowing where I was heading. During this time at the retreat, I was totally broken down and rebuilt. You could say all the bullshit, excuses and misconceptions were removed and the authentic me came out the other side. I could not believe what had happened to me.
I was so transformed that I wanted to learn more. Since then, I was part of the team running and hosting these retreats. I experienced the transformation of so many people. Wow, this was real cool shit. Besides making this happen myself, I wanted to know more and learn as much as possible. It has taken many years of learning and procrastinating to finally take this step to become a Life Coach.
To prove to myself that I am ready, I attended a Life Coaching workshop which took a week. This was a hands on workshop and I did a lot of soul searching as well as had the opportunity to be a coach and be coached several times a day. I knew this is my "JAM". I was most probably ready some time ago, however now I have the certificate to prove it.
Tribute to my mentor and friend - Narda Rubens
Narda was the facilitator of "The Key". She was a larger than life person who cared about people. It was at The Key that a spark ignited within me and have ever since been involved in coaching, mentoring and personal development. Narda unfortunately passed away a few years back and I have decided to honour the great work done by her and call my coaching journey THE KEY COACHING.
